mpv with youtube-dl, Failed to recognize file format. When I use youtube-dl -F https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0s7pKFWLgWk I get a list of formats to play. If I want to play only audio, then I can use the youtube-dl -f 140 URL to play the audio only track.
6/3/2018 · Attempt to play a YouTube video, with latest nightly youtube-dl.exe installed, but it fails. E.G: mpv -v –msg-level=all=trace https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOacA3RYrXk. 8/16/2017 · It’s an incompatible change in youtube-dl, starting with version 2017.08.06. It’s fixed in mpv, but not in any release yet. Your options are to use mpv-git or downgrade youtube-dl to a version earlier than the one I mentioned.
